Summer camp is an important experience for children & teens. This summer, time at camp will be particularly important because children have experienced a disruption in their social, developmental, and educational experiences.

Kids and families need summer camp more than ever! Kids come home from Takodah with greater confidence, independence, resilience, empathy, and social skills — and that translates into a happier and more successful child. Camp Takodah’s strategy is to meet and/or exceed the current Covid guidelines so that families can rest assured that their kids are in good hands.
Hear from Artie Lang and Carlie Fischer of Camp Takodah’s leadership team on plans for Summer 2021:
It is important to recognize that summer camp is going to look a little different this year. You can expect to see tweaks to camp policies, procedures, programming, food service, facilities, and more. As always the staff will work tirelessly to provide a Takodah-quality experience in a safe and healthy way.
The Takodah Experience
Camp Takodah helps children discover who they are and what they can achieve. At their single-gender camps, children unplug and connect with themselves and each other.

A child’s first time paddling a canoe, swimming in a lake, making new friends, climbing a rock wall, or being away from home for an extended period of time are all great self-esteem boosters. These activities push them out of their comfort zone, all while being supported by counselors and staff in a safe environment.

They’re completely immersed in nature, and removed from screens, phones, and televisions keeping them socially and physically active during their camp session.

Camp Takodah YMCA exists to help kids reach their full potential. Focusing on belonging, autonomy, achievement, and relationships. These programs give kids a chance to discover who they are and what they can achieve.

Camp Takodah offers a multitude of daily activities for campers. Providing a choice-based, progressive program that fits the individual needs and interests of each camper. Campers get to choose their own classes and activities, all of which help them build skills, confidence, and self-respect.

*This post is a sponsored post in partnership with Camp Takodah YMCA. We personally attended Family Camp a few years ago and loved the experience*
I would love even if one of my kids were able to attend a YMCA camp I attended Camp Weber ( a YMCA camp in west Springfield, MA) and I remember every summer, group names, camp songs, counselors, swimming, archery arts n’ crafts, bonfires, ahhh great childhood memories.
My son would love to make some summer camp friends and swim!
Our kids would love to spend a couple weeks at camp! They love to hike, swim, and sit by a campfire.
All the activities look so much fun! I wish I was a kid again so I can stay here lol
