Rhode Island Fireworks and Events *HIGHLIGHTED EVENT* 7/3/15-7/4/15- Bristol, RI: Every year since I was an early teenager, my family has enjoyed the Independence Day festivities in Bristol RI. This annual celebration began in 1785, making these festivities the first Patriotic Exercises conducted in the country. This year the carnival and concert series kick off on July 3rd, which truly adds to the ambiance of the holiday celebration! As the sun goes down, we enjoy ourselves at the carnival and anticipate the Fireworks to come! The fireworks display is always amazing from Colt State Park! And, since our family stays right on the Bay, we can see fireworks from all the other towns surrounding the Bay!! Amazing!! On the 4th, we head over to our favorite spot along the bay to enjoy the parade. Vendors are set up along the 2.5 mile route with balloons and goodies for the kids. We usually set up shop in the parking lot near the ice cream parlor, toward the end of the route. There is also great restaurant next door who is usually BBQ’ing up some more tasty food!!
