Today kicks off the seventh season of what’s now become a summertime tradition in Massachusetts! It all started in 2008 when the Highland Street Foundation opened the doors to cultural institutions in the area with free admission for all guests. It has become a summertime staple for local families.
Executive director, Blake Jordan, wanted to celebrate the foundations 20th anniversary in 2009 by doing something that everyone could participate in. So, they decided to open up ten museums and cultural venues for free, one for every remaining week of the summer. In its first year, Free Fun Fridays were a success. Now in its 7th year and still going strong.
