The Canal District Farmers‘ Market gives Massachusetts farmers and makers a place to come together to celebrate the diversity of goods available in Central Massachusetts! Located at 200 Harding Street in Worcester outside Crompton Collective, the farmers market runs year round every Saturday 9am-12pm. July and August will host an additional market Thursday evenings 4pm-7pm for those who can’t make it on weekends.
The Canal District Farmers Market has a wide variety of items for sale each week. Produce, meats, cheeses, breads, pastry, coffee, jams & jellies, spices & sauces, farm fresh milk, plants, fresh flowers, gentleman’s grooming products, candles, pickles, art, soaps and lotions and even wine! The vibe and hustle and bustle is addictive. The vendors are friendly and always have time to chat and help you find just what you’re looking for. Several of the vendors also offer free samples to taste and try.
I must admit, as a long time shopper of the market I was lucky enough to take over as Market Manager this past December! I really enjoy every aspect of what I do. I look forward to each Saturday, the early mornings coordinating the vendors and watching the market come to life for the city to enjoy. And most of all being apart of something that helps local farms and businesses grow. Amy Lynn Chase has worked tirelessly to build such a supportive community in Worcester. What once was an overlooked part of town is now the place to be every weekend!
It really is the perfect way to spend your Saturday morning. Not just at the market but perusing through Crompton Collective or having a bite to eat at Birch Tree Bread Company and taking in the sounds of the live music.
