We were hosted by the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
Located on the picturesque shore of Old Silver beach in Falmouth, Ma. the Sea Crest Beach Hotel began its operations as a family vacation destination in 1962, when Boston Celtic’s president and coach “Red” Auerbach purchased the property. It was converted it into a year-round resort in 1971. Scout Real Estate Capital, LLC acquired the hotel in 2011 and launched a $15 million renovation.
The hotel is decorated in a nautical-beach theme, neutrals, with blues and greens that remind you of sea glass, calming beach waves and soft sands. The decor is the perfect complement to the resorts location!
From the moment you check in the staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. They are happy to help with luggage, answer any questions you may have or make recommendations on dining and area attractions. The 263-room resort is a family friendly destination on West Falmouth’s Buzzards Bay. Two saline pools, one indoor and one outdoor, rooms and suites with breathtaking views of Old Silver Beach, where rows of orange and white striped umbrellas and white sands make for picture perfect beach days for you and your family.
Onsite dining, seasonal activities for kids and nautically themed rooms, poolside bar, outdoor fire pit and event space overlooking the beach serve as the perfect destination for a family vacation! Our room was very spacious and more had than enough room to fit all 5 of us comfortably. Ample storage for our luggage in the 2 closets and dresser, a mini fridge, flat screen TV, a coffee station and sitting area. The large bathroom has soft plush towels and stocked with Casswell-Massey toiletries.
Over looking the pool and beach our room was located in the perfect spot to view the breathtaking sunsets over Old Silver Beach. The queen size pillow top beds and fluffy pillows were so comfy after a long fun-filled day at the beach and pool. We all slept like babies! The 263 guestrooms and suites offer:
- Sealy pillowtop beds
- Flat screen TVs
- Free Wi-Fi
- Keurig coffee makers
- Writing desks
- Personalized voicemail
- Mini refrigerators
- Fireplaces (in some rooms)
- Ocean views (in some rooms)
- Sofa beds (in some rooms)
- Roll-away beds available upon request
Dining:
The Sea Crest Beach Hotel is home to a number of dining options. So no worrying about venturing out for meals. From traditional Cape Cod fair, ice cream shop, to the indulgent made to order waffles and omelets at the breakfast buffet, the Sea Crest has something for everyone.
Feast on burgers, salads, fresh seafood, pizza and more at the always friendly Red’s Restaurant & Lounge, you can enjoy your meal in the intimate dining room, sit at the bar for a bite or sit down for family friendly meal in the beautiful Three Season Porch like we did. We enjoyed our meal while watching the sunset over Old Silver Beach. A cozy bench with pillows lines the perimeter of the room to sit back and relax while dining, farm style seating is available in the center of the room for larger groups. Lobby Café (Seasonal)
Relax and recharge at the Lobby Café, offering snacks and light fare and the convenience of Wi-Fi, freshly brewed coffee and more. Perfect for quick morning bites.
The Ocean View Room No meal in Cape Cod is complete without a fantastic view of the ocean. We enjoyed our incredible breakfast buffet overlooking the white sands of Old Silver Beach while listening to the waves crash on the shore. The buffet is not to be missed! From an omelet and waffle bar, eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pastries, oatmeal, granola cereals, fresh-cut fruit, the Sea Crest serves up a scrumptious breakfast. Red’s Poolside Bar (Seasonal):
Featuring an open deck overlooking the swimming pool and Old Silver Beach, the poolside bar allows you to let go and relax in true Cape Cod style. Grab your favorite frozen or mixed drink and sip while relaxing in a lounge chair by the pool. Red’s Take Out Red’s Take Out grab and go window came in handy several times for us during our stay. Swimming and sand castle building can really make you hungry! Conveniently located next to the pool deck, we could grab a snack, drink or lunch by just hopping out of the pool.
The Ice Cream Machine Grab-n-go ice cream scoop shop, sundaes, cones, drinks and snacks. Perfect snack to cool off on a hot day or a sweet treat before bed. Owen really enjoyed his chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles after a long day of playing and swimming.
Old Silver Beach Shore Dinner Dig your toes into the warm sand while enjoying our signature Old Silver Beach Shore Dinner which includes fresh Maine lobster dipped in butter, local steamers, East Coast mussels, BBQ and all the accoutrements. End the evening watching the most spectacular sunset on Cape Cod and huddle around our fire pit while you toast s’mores and enjoy freshly baked chocolate chips cookies.
