Last year we’ve did a lot of traveling and made memories that I hope will last a lifetime! I want my kids to remember their travels, so I went looking for some really great journals.
Travel journals are a great way for kids to revel in their vacation memories long after the trip has ended! Through writing, you are encouraging your child to explore, create and learn.
Creating a travel journal will provide a keepsake of memories that are fun to look back on for years to come. My Daughters love looking back through their journals from our trip to Disney World 10 years ago!
Journaling can be a great educational tool if your child is missing school while you’re away!
Journaling encourages:
-Exploring and identifying emotions
-Memory recall
-Sparks creativity
-Develops writing and storytelling skills
-Improves grammar, handwriting, reading and spelling skills
-Let your child have their own disposable camera or inexpensive digital camera, that way they can take pictures from their point of view
The possibilities to expand your child’s learning skills are endless!
Writing Prompts:
Writing prompts are a helpful way to get your child’s creatives juices flowing!
-What do you think it will be like?
-Where are you staying?
-What are you most looking forward to?
-What was your favorite thing you ate?
-What is something silly that happen on your trip?
-How did we travel to this place? What was it like? Were you nervous, excited, etc.?
-What is the weather like?
-What was your favorite meal/snack/drink/special treat?
-Souvenirs. What did you get? Why did you choose it? How will it remind you of the trip?
-What is something new you tried? Tell me about it.
-Would you want to return? What is something you want to do on your next visit?

These are so cool! I might have to check some out for my niece. I think she’d totally get into a travel journal. Also, I love the first prompt. I might do that for myself. It would be fun to look back and see. 🙂
REALLY COOL POST! I USE A JOURNAL BUT IT’S MORE FOR MY DAILY GRATITUDE ROUTINE. EVERYDAY, I WRITE SOMETHING I’M GRATEFUL FOR.
