We all have plenty of toilet paper, paper towel tubes and cardboard boxes around the house. Why not make these simple, easy upcycled gift boxes for the holidays?! Both of these gift boxes are super simple and quick to make and would be perfect for small gifts such as gift cards, cash, small presents, confetti for New Year’s Eve or a wedding.
Supplies:
Carboard tubes
Small cardboard boxes (I used a Jell-O box and a Crystal Light box)
Acrylic Paints
Paint Brush
Stapler
or Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
Twine, Bows, Gift Tags, Ribbon, etc.
I started by opening the boxes on their seams to “turn the inside out” and gave them a quick coat of paint. The toilet paper tubes do not need any prep besides paint. Although if you are using a paper towel tube you can cut to your desired length.
When the boxes are dry, glue edges, insert your gift and adorn with ribbon, bows etc.
Tubes painted, ends folded or glued and added bows and ribbon. It’s that simple and quick!
Steps:
Open boxes to expose cardboard inside
Give you toilet paper tubes and boxes a quick coat of paint
Let Dry
Fold in the ends of you tubes
Staple or hot glue the ends of the tubes closed
Decorate with ribbon or twine
There are so many decorating ideas with this project!
Happy crafting!

These are so cute! I am always trying to upcycle when we wrap gifts to save money and make the gifts personalized. I’ll have to try some of these!
This is such a great idea! I’ll be up cycling some boxes soon to make these 🙂
This is so awesome! I definitely want to try this for my Xmas gifts this year.
Great DIY project.. we always try and upcycle when we can make sense of it..
These are great ideas! I prefer to find upcycled ways to wrap gifts rather than spend lots of money on wrappings!
I love the jello box upcycle! I had no clue what the box was originally. Perfect for Christmas 🙂
This is a great idea. Very useful and creative. Thank you for sharing.
